On
well-groomed trails, you leave
the neighborhoods of the resort
behind and embark into the oak-studded
hillsides. Hawks soar overhead.
Wildflower meadows greet you in
season. Gentle streams and lakes
shimmer in the sun. The ever-present
Sierra Mountain Range dominates
the eastern horizon.
Our extensive Quail Trail reconnects
the residents with nature as it
winds through many pristine areas
of the resort. The trail is appropriately
named after the California Quail
a small, plump bird with a short
black beak. Both the male and
the female have a curved black
crown feather on their foreheads.
The male's crown feather is larger
than the female's. They are abundant
in the foothills and like areas
with lots of brush. There is a
very good chance you will see
them during your walk along the
trail.
There are miles of trails, with
several picnic areas and restrooms.
One loop is reserved for mountain
biking only. The trail is connected
to the improved walks within the
neighborhoods.
When you visit us, ask for a Quail
Trail Map at our Concierge desk
and explore the natural wonders
of Saddle Creek Resort.
